Chapter 309 - 71: Ghost Race (Part 3)
The Dragon Vein Mage cast a language comprehension spell on Bryan, so he could understand them as well.
Listening to the jabbering of these green-skinned creatures, his brows furrowed.
Firstly, these green-skinned creatures refer to their own race as ’little ghosts’, ’green little ghosts’.
Secondly, these little ghosts are not very intelligent, probably only as smart as a few-year-old human child, incapable of normal communication.
Thus, many questions asked resulted in incoherent answers.
"Enough." Seeing that no more useful information could be extracted, Bryan stopped the Dragon Vein Mages from extracting more, taking a deep breath and calmly instructing,
"Kill them, and then take that little ghost village."
A jackal wolfman, nearly three meters tall, stepped forward with a sinister grin, drawing a two-meter-long curved saber. With one slash, he decapitated five little ghosts simultaneously. Before they could make any effort to regenerate, several more flashes of the blade shimmered through the air, reducing the five green-skinned little ghosts to a pile of strange meat shreds resembling plant roots.
The shredded meat twitched and struggled, trying to gather and heal, but they completely stopped a few seconds later, losing their life.
Currently, there are two conventional methods to kill these green-skinned little ghosts. One is to deplete the energy from their bodies, preventing them from regenerating.
The other is to cut them into many pieces so that even with enough energy, they cannot regenerate and recover.
After ending the lives of the green-skinned little ghosts, Bryan gathered all the team members to head towards the little ghost village at the fastest speed.
On the way, they killed any lone little ghosts they encountered. Soon, the village appeared in their line of sight.
"Remember, don’t kill unusual individuals, as for the others... kill them all!" Bryan ordered in a low voice.
His fifty subordinates nodded.
Very soon, the village, home to hundreds of green-skinned little ghosts, fell into a slaughter filled with screams.
However strong one’s life force, it is useless when the gap in individual strength is too large.
At most, it merely wastes more of the advanced monster warriors’ stamina, that’s all.
A moment later, the battle was over, leaving the little ghost village in utter silence with remains and meat shards everywhere.
In the house at the center of the village, a six-meter-plus-tall Giant Demon Warrior dragged a 2.5-meter-tall green-skinned monster inside.
The green-skinned monster had two horns growing on either side of its forehead, with large and small green spikes protruding from its limbs, looking quite vicious.
"Commander." The Giant Demon Warrior threw the green-skinned spiked monster at Bryan’s feet.
The Dragon Vein Mage applied a language comprehension spell on both Bryan and the monster.
"You alien races from another world, just kill me, don’t expect to get any information from my mouth!" the green-skinned spiked monster growled lowly.
"From another world?" Bryan was delighted to see that this guy could communicate, but his brow jumped upon hearing its words.
Could this plane have already been invaded by outsiders?
That wouldn’t be good news.
"What do these aliens look like? Are they currently fighting with your world?" Bryan asked nervously.
This question made the green-skinned spiked monster blank, then it realized that these aliens in front of it probably weren’t in league with those invading its world.
But aliens are aliens, the green-skinned spiked monster snorted coldly, unwilling to speak further.
Bryan signaled the Dragon Vein Mage beside him to give it a little lesson.
During the slaughter of those green-skinned little ghosts, Bryan and others found that these green-skinned little ghosts greatly feared the power of fire and acid, which could cause them immense pain and negate their regeneration ability, very much like the traits of the Tal Plane’s Giant Demons.
So...
The Dragon Vein Mage smiled and conjured up several streams of acid, which then drilled into the ears, lower body, and other parts of the green-skinned spiked monster.
Screams echoed for a full quarter-hour before the green-skinned spiked monster finally submitted weakly.
What is called strong will is merely a matter of the extent of the torture.
If physical pain can be ignored, then torture the soul.
Afterwards, whatever Bryan asked, the green-skinned spiked monster responded like pouring beans.
Firstly, this world is currently in a state of invasion.
And based on its description, Bryan quickly identified the race of the invaders—the demon.
Bryan had suspected this answer, just wasn’t sure. After all, his master had told him that the demons granted power by him had come from the abyss to this plane... Generally, there are only two possibilities for this situation.
One is invasion, the other is native creatures using summoning rituals to summon demons.
Now it seems, it’s undoubtedly an invasion.
"This is indeed bad news..." Bryan thought silently.
He naturally knew his master’s intentions—to occupy this plane and make it the base for the Black Wing Nest.
"But it also depends on this plane’s energy level. If it’s not high, with the master’s strength, it’s possible to snatch it from the demons," Bryan squinted.
He looked down at the green-skinned spiked monster kneeling on the ground, accurately speaking, this was the evolved form of those green-skinned little ghosts, a Big Ghost.
Further up, there is a more highly evolved form—the Ghostman.
Little Ghost Race, Big Ghost Race, Ghostman Race.
Among them, the Ghostman Race is undoubtedly the upper governing class. Besides the horned foreheads, they look and have height nearly identical to humans.
Moreover, there are several varieties within the Ghost Race.
Green Ghost: possessing powerful regenerative capabilities, the Green-skinned Little Ghost’s evolutionary forms Big Ghost and Ghostman see this regenerative ability advancing and even mutating to more powerful abilities.
Blue-skinned Frost Ghost: masters Frost power.
Purple-skinned Demon Ghost: masters psychic superpowers, extraordinarily intelligent.
There is also the Red Ghost, boasting strong physiques.
White Ghosts, with massive bodies.
From what this green-skinned Big Ghost said, Bryan got a rough impression of this world.
This world has been unified by the Ghost Race, with only scattered intelligent races struggling in certain corners.
And each type within the Ghost Race has a king, each king holding cataclysmic power... According to Bryan’s guess, these kings should have all reached the Legendary Level, but the specific tier of legend is unknown.
After all, this green-skinned Big Ghost merely possesses advanced power, not close to the Ghost Race’s core.
"Green-skinned little ghosts possess low-level power, their evolved form, the green-skinned Big Ghost, jumps directly to advanced power... Then the evolved form, the Ghostman, must start at Master Level?"
Bryan furrowed his brow deeply.
He didn’t know how many Ghostmen inhabited this world? How many Ghostmen have reached the Legendary Level? And most importantly... what is the maximum power tier this world can support?
While Bryan was initially gathering information, elsewhere, Roy’s team had encountered a formidable enemy.
"Aliens, prepare to die!"
The Ghostman stood two meters tall, barely distinguishable from humans except for its green skin and double horns on its forehead, its tone icy cold.
With one palm outstretched, blinding green light spawned countless thick vines charging towards Roy on the opposite side.
All around the ghostman and Roy, numerous green-skinned little ghosts and Big Ghosts battled ferociously against the monster warriors of the Black Wing Nest.
