Chapter 250: How to look like Him
Chapter 250: How to look like Him
Ava opened the door and froze.
Thaddeus stood there, smiling back at her. Her legs began to shake, but she quickly hid her nervousness and gave him an even bigger smile.
"Baby," He cooed as he swooped her into his arms.
She wrapped her arms around his neck, savouring the warmth of him. Now that Cain was gone, Thaddeus didn’t need to be hidden anymore.
"Did you miss me?"
"Of course I did," She replied.
Their lips locked, and Theo stepped out of her room that second. The moment she saw them, she immediately turned back to her room.
"Sorry," She muttered.
"No, no it’s fine," Ava replied, giggling a bit.
"Are you sure?" Theo asked, her back facing them.
"Yes,"
She turned back and finally looked at the man next to Ava. He was quite tall and handsome, and his looks reminded her of someone she knew.
"Theo!" He exclaimed excitedly and rushed to her, pulling her into the tightest hug she had ever received.
"Uhhhhh," Theo drawled, "You seem to know me a lot,"
Thaddeus pulled back and gave her a deep, concerned look, then he turned back to Ava, "Her memories are still gone?" He asked.
"Yeah,"
"Oh!" He pulled back, but his hands remained on her shoulders, "I guess I’ll have to introduce myself," He smiled warmly, "Yo, couz. Your mum and mine were sisters, which makes us cousins. I’m Alpha Draven Douglas’s son, Thaddeus Douglas. And uhmmm," Thaddeus turned to Ava, wondering if he should continue.
Ava shook her head.
"We were quite close when we were younger," He finished.
"When I first saw you, I had a feeling you looked like someone," Theo smiled, "Turns out it was me," She leaned closer to his face, inspecting his features, "Since we are cousins, I’ll be very casual with you...I think if I were a boy, we’d look so alike that people would always mistake us as twins,"
Ava covered her face with her palms and coughed into it, while Thaddeus stifled laughter, "I’m very sure that’s true,"
"Why are both of you acting strange?"
They both shook their heads in unison and replied, "We are not!!"
"Right," Theo narrowed her eyes at them, then focused on Thaddeus, "So, what brings you here? Moreover," She eyed them again, "Ava didn’t mention anything about being...all touchy and smoochy with my cousin,"
"We are dating," Thaddeus stated.
"Yeah, I would love a heads-up next time you guys decide to get all...handsy,"
"We were just kissing!" Thaddeus cried, "I hadn’t even started touching her yet when you...,"
"Addy!!" Ava cried, her cheeks turning red.
"Ewwwwww," Theo hummed, "Now, what do we owe this visit of yours? You’ve come to spend time with your girlfriend...or your cousin?!"
"Both!!" He said with a grin, raising a whole crate of wine.
The scent coming from it was almost choking, and Ava had been suspicious about it since he walked in.
"How on earth did you get your hands on so much Silverbloom wine?!"
"One of the perks of being an Alpha’s son. Plus, my dad left me in charge after he went to see Alpha Darius — said they had a very important meeting going on. Been going on for months actually, since the war ended. They’ve been discussing a lot, like how the three sides would share the East, erasing the East’s existence from all records, but that’s been a hassle since Zevon and Zeke are still alive. There’s also the discussion of completely erasing everything relating to demonic existence from the world and using the South’ tribunal’s Pack’s power to carve a new law no one can defy. Then there’s also your father having a hard time convincing the North that he wants to make you his heir...,"
Thaddeus stopped when he finally noticed Ava glaring at him. These were the things she had been trying to protect Theo from, to shield her from the pressures of the changing world so she could heal.
But of course, her blabbermouth boyfriend has to spill all the beans the second he steps into the house.
"Wow!" Theo sighed, "That sounds like a lot."
"I asked one question," Ava started walking toward him, and the anger in her eyes had him moving back, "I asked where you got silver wine from, that’s all. And you...you and your big mouth!!"
"I didn’t know! I thought you’d already told her everything!"
"She’s not supposed to know everything now. After all she’s been through....gosh, am I the only one who thinks she’s to be protected?"
"I..."
"Not a single word from you!" She snapped, breathing hard, "And when I made that phone call with you yesterday and asked you to come, I strictly remember telling you to come over tomorrow, not today,"
"What’s wrong with my coming today?" He asked.
She opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came out. Nothing could come out, because saying anything would reveal something she’s been hiding, something she’s been denying about herself, and she wasn’t ready for the change that might come with it.
"Nothing," She said softly, "You’re welcome here anytime. Now, drop the wine and come with me," She added and walked into her room.
Thaddeus followed.
Theo was left standing alone, and her eyes instantly dropped to the wine.
Silverbloom wine. Ever since she had a whiff of it while they went out of town, she’s been dying to have it.
Thaddeus wouldn’t mind... would he? Moreover, he brought it for them in the first place.
The moment she leaned down to take out a bottle, Ava’s terrifying yell from the room shook the walls, "I said NO Silverbloom wine for you! Don’t touch it, young lady!!"
Theo trembled a bit and turned away.
To be honest, Ava can be very, very scary.

.
.
The three of them sat in the sitting room. Ava sat down next to Thaddeus, while Theo sat across from them.
Thaddeus had been updated on what was going on, especially with Theo wanting to return to Gravemont Academy. It was the whole reason why Ava had called him in the first place, because she wasn’t sure she and Theo alone could pull this off.
And the school was resuming in just two days.
"First of all, you cannot pretend to be me anymore," Thadeus began, "People know the truth now and I doubt we’d even make it into the gate. Gravemont has fortified its defences and wards, and Sylas’s shadows would detect anything other than students who try to get into the school. But since you’re his mate... hopefully, they won’t see you as a...threat,"
"What do I do?" Theo asked, although her eyes still drifted to the wine crate sitting in the corner.
"The best I’ve got is, you’re gonna pretend to be one of the students that died during the explosion. And we are gonna say that he’s alive, and you’re him,"
"That sounds ridiculous," Ava rolled her eyes, "It’s not gonna work. The Commandant isn’t stupid. They know the students who died and those who survived. The moment she claims to be one of the dead ones, they would apprehend her,"
"Then, I don’t know what else to suggest. Gravemont isn’t accepting students right now so she can’t pose as a new student,"
Ava sighed, "The...dead students. Which one can she pose as? Make it someone from the North, so it’d be easier for us,"
"How about Thomas? Thomas Zachary. He died that night, but I can get my hands on the family’s relic and its seal. She could use that once they ask for proof of bloodline,"
"And what about the history of the family itself? She needs to know a lot of things about how Thomas lived, how he grew up, his friends at the academy, and so on,"
"Lucky us," Thaddeus grinned, "Thomas died along with his friends in the explosion so she wouldn’t have to worry about anyone suspecting a thing!"
"You’re way too happy saying that,"
"Am I?!"
"Wait guys," Theo said, grabbing their attention, "What about my looks? I can’t make myself look like Thomas,"
"That’s not a problem,"
Ava was taken aback, "What do you mean by it’s not a problem? I believe it is! Her wolf can only make her look like her, but in male form. I’m pretty sure this Thomas guy looks nothing like her,"
"He doesn’t, but as you already know, the world is pretty advanced today and being an Alpha’s son comes with its perks!"
Ava’s jaw dropped.
"All I have to do is get a picture of what this ’Thomas’ guy looks like, get a whiff of his scent from his room, and that would be more than enough," Thaddeus took out his phone and began texting someone.
Seconds later, he looked back at them, "They’ve agreed and will be here next week. I would have gotten my hands on a picture by then, too,"
"What exactly...are they gonna do?"
"You know those movies where they add some make-up and some extra skin and make you look completely different?"
"Yeah,"
"Well these people can do so too, but in an advanced way. She’s gonna look exactly like Thomas by the time they are done, trust me on this!"
Ava groaned and fell back on the couch.
Were they really gonna pull this off?!
