Chapter 59: Bella’s True Nature [TRIGGER WARNING!]

Bella was breathing heavily, she managed to get out of range of the zombies but this was partly because of Sam’s action. Sam was having a little too much fun in this apocalypse.

Sam drew all the zombies’ attention to himself, he liked the idea of being a one-man army and now he could kill as he pleased.

There was no chain of command, he wasn’t answering anyone but himself.

Sam liked this but this choice unknowingly saved Bella.

Bella knew her chances of survival dropped drastically the moment she was found out and the kind face that she wore dropped.

Her brows furrowed and she looked furious, this wasn’t the Bella that they knew.

"That fucking little shit! Randy didn’t kill him!?" Bella cussed out and this all but revealed her involvement in the case.

In actuality, Bella and Randy had raided the house of that place for supplies.

Bella watched and even cheered Randy as he raped the woman but she made sure the husband watched.

Bella was just as depraved as the rest of the members, she mocked the husband and began to beat him when he begged for Randy to stop.

This was enough to damage his face and render him unconscious temporarily.

Randy proceeded to abuse the woman for an extended time until Bella got bored and slit the woman’s throat killing her.

But Bella had a fun idea and that was seeing how long the toddler could survive on its own.

She opened the mother’s body and placed the baby inside but not before breaking the mother’s limbs. But this wasn’t all she did, she mutilated the mother’s body by cutting off her breasts.

"Now, you return to the womb," This was what Bella said when she did this with Randy laughing, they saw the boy but Randy guaranteed Bella that he had it handled.

Randy, in a rare moment of compassion, knew he couldn’t kill the boy but he also knew that if Bella knew what he was about to do. She would not only kill the boy but him as well.

This was why Randy gagged him and shoved him into the closet but before he left the house with Bella.

He secretly informed the barely conscious father where his children were and also promised him that he didn’t kill them.

Of course, the man didn’t believe him because he just saw what he did to his wife.

But this was enough hope for him to cling to life, he gave up on humanity but what he truly hated was how powerless he was.

Luckily, the next person he encountered was Clementine but Bella was anything but a good person.

"Bella..." A voice called out behind her and she rolled her eyes the moment she heard it but the person that called her name couldn’t see it because her face was not pointed in their direction.

The moment she turned, she had magically manifested tears in her eyes.

It was no one other than Jason, Bella looked up and looked rather helpless.

"Jason! I swear I have been set up!" Bella tried to manipulate him but the look in Jason’s eyes was different, it felt like he knew what she had done.

He just needed to see her and instinctively knew that everything Sam said was true.

"You really had me, Bella..." Jason said with a weak smile, he was lowkey pissed at himself that he fell for something so obvious.

"Hahaha! I guess the gig is up... I did enjoy fucking you Jason," Bella said bluntly right before pulling out a gun and pointing it at Jason.

"But I can’t say I wouldn’t enjoy killing you even more," Bella teased but for some reason, Jason looked unbothered.

Chronos informed Jason about the joke from the earlier night and Jason couldn’t even believe that Chronos was this twisted, what kind of fucked up joke was this.

If he knew, he could have proceeded with caution with Bella but now, he was about to die.

"Can you pull the trigger?" Jason asked her and Bella chuckled.

"What? You think I’m in love with you just because we fucked?" Bella teased as she cocked her gun.

"Goodbye pretty boy," Bella said, squeezing the trigger but by some stroke of luck, the gun jammed.

"Chronos..." Jason called out to the system and Chronos responded to its user.

[Yeah?]

"I cannot kill the kid..." Jason told the system.

Chronos was cut short by Jason who proposed a solution to this dilemma.

"I wish to kill Bella in his place," Jason thought. He knew he had to use his own hands to kill her because she made a fool out of him the most.

[Do You Wish To Cancel Your Current Quest? Y/N?]

Chronos asked and Jason was hesitant as he watched Bella try to unjam her gun, he kicked it out of her hand.

"Yes, I wish to cancel it..." Jason said; he was expecting whatever penalty that came with it to be afflicted.

[Quest Received!]

The moment Jason heard this, a smile creased his face because Chronos had just granted him mercy by using something he didn’t even know he had.

Grace was something that pardoned the user for not refusing to undertake a quest from Chronos and Jason had just used his even though he wasn’t even aware that he had it.

[Eliminate The Threats!]

Chronos instructed Jason and this brought a sigh of relief from him but there was something wrong with what Chronos had just said.

"Huh? Threats?" Jason asked; why was Chronos using plural tense? His question was soon answered, a blunt force collided with the back of his head, knocking him out cold as Alex slowly came into view.

"I’m afraid she gets to live another day," Alex said to the unconscious Jason with Bella kissing her teeth in frustration as she was not happy to see Alex.
