Chapter 302: The Army Of The Dead
Chapter 302: The Army Of The Dead
Corey still planned to carry out his mission but this camp was on the zombies’ way to the community. They would have passed them otherwise but the gunshot attracted them.
This was the only thing, this was the worst possible timing but it was something that Dimitris knew they had no chance of defeating them.
Dimitris had to return before these creatures could reach the others but a loud shriek echoed.
The frequency felt like it would pop his eardrums prompting Dimitris to clutch his ears shut in pain however that sudden movement gave away his position.
Before he knew it, the car he was beneath was lifted off the ground and there was only one thing on his mind.
And that was to run, Dimitris took to his heels, running in a zigzag manner because he knew that this would most likely confuse them but one of the zombies on the horse unmounted its undead horse.
Took a few steps forward with the spear in its hand, these were supernatural creatures that surpassed human comprehension but Dimitris knew he had a chance at survival.
The zombie tossed the spear in his direction, it calculated the trajectory of Dimitris’ run, making it a perfect hit but Dimitris managed to parry it with the gun in his hand as he vanished out of their sight.
The zombie didn’t attempt to chase after him nor did it give any command for the others to chase, it simply climbed its horse and they continued their journey to the camp.
This was something that Dimitris knew he needed to report, if not to Glenn but to Mariam, they had to get out of here because something told him that if this set of zombies grew in numbers.
They would have their hands full, they needed to get back to their safe territory and leave these people to the zombies.
If they survived, that would be good but it wasn’t their responsibility to make sure that they made it through this mess.
If anything, this would give the others a chance at survival, Dimitris came to a halt when he ran out of breath.
He couldn’t return to the camp because there was no doubt he would run into the undead.

Glenn was given a place to stay but Corey had systematically placed people around it to watch him but he wasn’t the only one in that tent, he was with Rachel.
Rachel understood the urgency of the situation but she knew that even Corey was aware that he couldn’t take this place alone.
It wasn’t going to be easy and Corey knew that or he wouldn’t use this strategy.
That meant that they still had time, they couldn’t be hasty and she was certain that Dimitris’ arrival would change things.
She looked over her shoulder and realized that there was someone seated right at the entrance to their tent but they needed to devise a plan to get out of here.
But there was no way to create a diversion so they had to bid their time until then.
They knew that Corey was having fun with the women in the camp right about now.
It would be hard for the average man to resist such beauties but the thing about this was that women had to choose them.
They couldn’t touch them otherwise, they weren’t prostitutes that were given to the highest bidder nor was it a requirement for them to sleep with people for them to stay here.
But this would give them all a chance to relax and drop their guard.
There was one thing about this, if Glenn told Brayden, Brayden would slaughter them all without hesitation because this was his home and he would do everything to protect them.
That included getting blood on his hands but he also noticed that he didn’t see Andre.
That must mean that something happened to him, he could tell that something happened in this camp hence why they were making contact with the outside world.
This was something that they hadn’t done because their motto was staying to themselves so Glenn could make an educated guess.
-
The sun slowly set in the distance and the men were jolly but cautious because they didn’t know the intention of one another so there was that divide.
It couldn’t be helped but only if they knew what was coming, they would realize that in the end the living had one common enemy, and that was the undead.
Corey’s men whom he had placed on the lookout were yet to report back, they should have returned so he could switch them out with a pair of fresh legs but they hadn’t.
Corey knew this was unusual as no one liked working that much so that could only mean that something must have happened.
The men he sent to check them out were also yet to return and even if Dimitris was foolish enough to go against them, there was no way he would take them out without a single shot being fired.
There had to be something that overwhelmed them and Corey began to think that maybe this man before him was a lot smarter than he once thought.
Corey entertained the possibility that he had more men and he was picking them off one at a time thus the best way to kill them off would be to use their women as a distraction.
At least this was what Corey surmised, Glenn thought he was having fun with the women but that was false.
Corey took his task at hand seriously. Besides, what was the fun if she didn’t resist? That was the kind of depraved man that he was so none of this excited him unless he was the one having his way with them and that was why Rachel interested him so much.
"Something is wrong..." Corey muttered under his breath, Dimitris should be here if Glenn and Rachel were, there would be no point in him staying away if these two were present because he was aware of the relationship that he shared with Glenn.
It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that Glenn was his only friend but then again, there was a chance that the zombies got him too even though that was unlikely.
Corey couldn’t stop his men from having fun or it would draw Brayden’s attention to them.
Brayden was nowhere to be found, he was in his tent which was heavily guarded by his men but he came out soon after.
The look on his face, Corey could tell that he wasn’t the only one sensing something was wrong.
He looked over at Corey, unknown to Corey, Brayden had stationed men to watch over the men that Corey had stationed to watch their cars but like Corey’s men, they were yet to return.
This created tension but he also knew that there would be no use for Corey to do something so stupid because there was no benefit even if he wished to attack.
