Chapter 295 - 294: She’s in Danger
Nathan Foster turned and left the room, noticing it was raining again.
Despite the rain, he called Ivan Keller and set off in the direction of South Grant’s positioning.
Later, Nathan Foster grew impatient with Ivan Keller’s slow driving, so he took the wheel himself. No matter how fast he accelerated, the target location remained five kilometers away from them.
This speed suggests only a top-tier car could be speeding ahead at full throttle — what is South Grant doing?
Has she encountered some accident? Why is her phone turned off?
Nathan Foster’s doubts grew larger, and his anxiety increased.
Upon reaching 30 kilometers outside of Aethelgard, Nathan Foster suddenly slammed the brakes, the tires leaving a neat skid mark on the road.
Ivan Keller looked at Nathan Foster and asked:
"Why aren’t we chasing anymore, Chief?"
"We’ve been tricked." Nathan Foster said in a low voice.
Dr. Keller had never seen such a severe expression on Nathan Foster’s face, and couldn’t help but feel nervous too.
"Chief, what happened?"
Ivan Keller had originally thought the two were in a spat, but now it seemed that wasn’t the case.
"She’s in danger. Someone is using her phone to lead us away," Nathan Foster said, turning the car around to head back.
Ivan Keller was a bit confused and asked Nathan Foster:
"Chief, we clearly saw Miss Grant enter the backyard, how could there be danger?"
Even if it’s the Foster Family’s backyard, any unintentional entry would trigger the alarm, making it virtually impossible to take someone out.
"Who said the danger is from outside?" Nathan Foster replied, narrowing his eyes at the road ahead.
Ivan Keller sensed a cold atmosphere emanating from Nathan Foster at that moment, something unrelated to the weather, solely due to his presence.
What exactly happened to South Grant? And what is this danger not coming from outside?
At this moment, Nathan Foster drove the car at top speed, quickly retracing their original route.
When South Grant regained consciousness, she felt an intense cold envelop her body.
Once fully awake, she found herself submerged in a pool.
The water in the pool was icy cold, reaching her chest at that moment.
South Grant surveyed her surroundings, finding four walls and only one iron door as the exit.
Where is this place?
Why is she here?
Who kidnapped her?
Confusion clouded South Grant’s mind, leaving her unaware of the situation.
She remembered being at the Foster Family estate, overhearing someone mention her mother’s name. She walked towards the two people, but before she reached them, someone struck her from behind.
Who was it?
How did outsiders infiltrate the Foster Family?
Does Nathan Foster know?
Does he know she’s missing?
"Is anyone there, come out, who are you?" South Grant shouted towards the door.
No one answered her call.
After a while, South Grant noticed the water level, originally at her chest, was beginning to rise.
She couldn’t help but panic. At this rate, it would surely submerge her head.
South Grant tried to float, but realized her feet were shackled to the bottom, preventing her from rising above the water.
Who did this despicable deed, binding her to this wretched place?
